Is it addictive?

ARK: Survival Evolved is a dinosaur and survival game for PC that is currently available through Early Access on Steam. Early Access is sort of like a demo that is progressively expanded with new content but, unfortunately, you cannot download it for free.

Welcome to Jurassic ARK

ARK: Survival Evolved is more like Minecraft than The Forest: without knowing too many details, you arrive to an island filled with dinosaurs. Your mission will be to discover what happened while you try to survive alongside other users, since ARK is a game with Online Mode. To that end, you will look for resources, create new objects using a crafting system, build structures and shelters... but this time, your little wood shack will not be of much use against the stomping of a T-Rex.

The presence of dinosaurs is what distinguishes ARK from other similar games, like The Long Dark and the aforementioned The Forest. It is like living in your own version of Jurassic Park! An underwater expedition may get cut short by the appearance of a megalodon. Tame a pterodactyl (yes, you can domesticate dinosaurs!) and conquer the sky. Or arm yourself to the teeth in case a pack of velociraptors attack you in the jungle.

What does Early Access really mean?

Are you intrigued? Do you want to download ARK: Survival Evolved right this very second? First, a word of warning: ARK: Survival Evolved is in Early Access. The game does not have a lot of content, some of its playability systems do not work and there are errors here and there. It is possible that you and your friends struggle to kill a T-Rex to get its skin, only for the dinosaur to start ascending to the sky, turning into an unreachable prize.

Another important warning: ARK: Survival Evolved is still terribly optimized. If you do not have a powerful PC, you are likely to have to suffer through jolts and freezes. If you have a low-end PC, we recommend that you wait until the developer completes this dinosaur island's optimization.

Have you read all the warning and still your adventurous heart beckons you to visit this island? Then, go ahead! Download ARK: Survival Evolved and enjoy as you see how this promising dinosaur game evolves in order to survive in a genre filled with tough competition.
